The Universal Exercise Unit is
a unique aspect of Pediatrics Plus. One of our Units features a system of ropes and pulleys that allows strength training
of specific weakened muscle groups. The child can exercise against varying amounts of resistance. A second Unit is set up
for functional activities/mat work. While supported by a system of special belts and strong elastic cords, the child practices
various developmental skills without the fear of falling. The therapist is able to facilitate ideal alignment and modify the
level of difficulty of the tasks. Children can be partially or totally suspended thereby decreasing the effects of gravity.
As a result, the child can experience more normalized movement and vestibular input, facilitating the development of muscle
strength, flexibility and balance.
